Seal has been and still is an important expression for coastal Arctic culture but nowadays it is at risk to be forgotten along the North Norwegian coast line.
The Seal Revitalization Project strives for the goal to reintroduce seal to coastal communities of Northern Norway and hereby revitalizes a cutural thread that was passed down for generations.
The third step of this project is a 10-days workshop in collaboration with the Mearrasiida, the Center for Coastal Sami Culture in Billefjord that is planned in September 2021.
The steps taken so far consisted in
The Seal Feast (2017)
Handmade Sealkies (2019)
